Due to increased interest in the healthy lifestyle, including visiting thermal zones, I would like to remind you of the necessity to follow some rules when going to saunas, including using felt hats for sauna. Some people think that using a special hat at the sauna is not necessary at all and that it quite possible to do without it, but is that true? We believe that the felt hat is actually the most necessary element when going to sauna (and it doesn't matter what type of it).
The paramount goal of the felt hat is to protect your head from a possible overheating. For example, in the Finnish sauna, dry air which sometimes reaches up to 100°C, is used, with such indicators the skin of the head and the hair itself can get quite serious damage, burning. And in order to avoid such a dangerous situation, it is worth using a felt help, which was invented specifically for this purpose. Besides the fact that this kind of hat is a wonderful thermo isolator, it also absorbs moisture. It is the best to use a hat for sauna which is made of natural materials only (most often are used felt hats). Woolen hats are an order of magnitude lower in quality (they are also used, however they function worse) and a synthetic cap will not be able to protect your hair and skin of your scalp from high temperature, but on the contrary will heighten the unwanted and harmful effect of the compress. Also, it is worth noting the small rubber caps for the swimming pool – they cannot be used in a sauna in any case, since they squeeze the head quite hard thereby slowing the blood circulation. And this in turn could lead to headache or faint. By the way, it is better not to use coloured felt (which provides worse protection from the hot air) and give preference to its natural gray colour. Thus, we see that the cap for sauna (or easier way to say it – bath cap) is a very significant element in a sauna. If you have wonderful, beautiful hair, be sure to use such a hat when visiting the thermal zones so it remain being the same.
What exactly the hat should be like? Nowadays we can choose absolutely every kind of a hat, the design could be absolutely diverse, of any topic. For instance, it could be pirate's, butcher's, pilot's hat. Napoleon's, tankman's, earflaps' and baseball hat, the choice is enormous and the variants are really diverse. Thanks to such a variety of choices, you will be able to choose for yourself a hat, which will best emphasize your current lifestyle, inner world or mood. If you want to be a tanker or an ancient knight - please, thanks to the imagination of designers, as well as modern textile production, your desire is very easy and quick to fulfill. By the way, a felt hat can also be an excellent gift (for both men and women). However, if you are going to give such a non-standard bath hat (for example, with horns or some specific inscription), you should think in advance about how the person for whom it is intended will react to such a gift. It is not difficult to buy a regular bathing cap, but you can immediately purchase a bath set, which usually includes a bath hat, mitten and rug (in that case all your accessories will be designed on one specific style). The sauna (like the bathhouse) was created so that a person could clean not only the body, but also the body as a whole, relax, rest his soul. That is why, when entering the sauna, we must be 100% sure that we have observed all the rules and that we can take thermal procedures and have fun without harm to our health.
From the above, we conclude: do not forget about the hat when you are going to visit a sauna or bath, because this is not just a bath accessory, but most importantly – the protection of your health.
